Following community complaints about drug activity and quality-of-life concerns, the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department launched an investigation into alleged narcotics distribution at 120 Hudson Ave., Apt. 4C1, the department said on Friday, March 14.

On Thursday, March 13, detectives executed a search warrant at the apartment with assistance from the Poughkeepsie Joint SWAT Team. Inside, officers recovered over 18 grams of crack cocaine, phencyclidine (PCP), $1,657 in cash, ammunition, phones, and drug packaging materials, all consistent with narcotics distribution, police said.

As a result of the raid, Davita Boothe, a Poughkeepsie resident, was arrested and charged with one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. Boothe was held pending arraignment.

The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department is urging community members to report suspected drug activity or ongoing suspicious behavior by contacting the Neighborhood Recovery Unit at 845-451-4060. Anonymous tips can also be submitted via the department’s tip line at 845-451-7577.
